The Children,s department functions in response to the direct instruction issued by the word of God; it is required of every Christian parent according to the command of God to bring up their children in the fear of the Lord.

The Ministry's foundational and instructional scripture is Psalm 78: 5-8

5 For He established a testimony in Jacob,
and appointed a law in Israel,
Which He commanded our fathers,
That they should make them known to their children;
6That the generation to come might know them,
The children who would be born,
That they may arise and declare them to their children;
7That they may set their hope in God,
And not forget the works of God,
But keep his commandments;
8And may not be like their farthers,
A stubborn and rebellious generation,
A generation that did not set its heart aright,
And whose spirit was not faithful to God.

In response to the above scripture, the children are taught to put their trust in God, to remember His ways and to remain loyal and faithful to Him in all the days of their lives. This is achieved through curriculum set out to teach the various topics adapted to their age groups. The teaching methods adopted are interactive and involve a lot of activities.

The Ministry is made up of twp parts namely the Children for Christ (CFC) and the Youth for Christ (YFC). There are 6 main classes of children based on their age groups. The classes are as follows:

The department provides various forms of recreational activities and entertainment for the children.

During the summer at least one departmental trip, and barbeques are organised for the children. In the winter we organise parties for them and at Christmas the children minister to the main body of the church.

We are presently setting up a regular drama group for the children for all age groups. This has been inspired through a series of successful performances during seasonal times of the year, due to the hard work and dedication of our teachers and the enthusiasm to participate shown by the children.

The teachers provide listening ears and make themselves available as confidants to the children.
Teachers continuously work to build trust and confidence in the children. This paves the way for children to entrust teachers with prevailing issues, problems or challenges they are unable to share with their parents or other members of the family.
The teachers meet regularly to pray for the children. They also avail themselves to parents who have challenges with their children thereby providing them with practical assistance and focused prayers.

Dedicated teachers are required
  1. Are you a bona fide heir to the throne of grace?
  2. Do you tithe?
  3. Do you attend church regularly including mid-week services?
  4. Do you love taking challenges?
  5. Do you love rewards?
  6. Do you want to be a part of the making of greatness of CFC and YFC?
If the answer is yes, then please see the Head of Department Mrs Seyi Adefarasin.
